While it remains uncertain whether the head coach will change after a long tenure, the match schedule and venues for the new international break have been officially confirmed. During a French Football Federation executive committee meeting, president Philippe Diallo confirmed that Les Bleus will play three home Nations League fixtures this autumn.

After more than a year without a game at the Stade de France, the team will make their return to the national stadium. Following two away matches in late September (against Turkey and Belgium respectively), France will host Italy on October 2 and Belgium on October 5 at the Stade de France. Their last appearance at this venue was in March 2025, when they faced Croatia in the Nations League.

The third home match will take place on November 15 in Bordeaux against Turkey.

This summer also brings a major highlight for the squad: the 2026 FIFA World Cup, co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19. Current manager Didier Deschamps is set to announce his final tournament squad on May 14, marking a significant milestone in his coaching career.
